About The Everyday Ultra Runner

Hi, I’m Lohith.

I’m an everyday runner who completed ultra-marathon events while balancing university studies and a full-time career.

The idea for my first ultra took shape while I was training for a marathon, running from village to village and realising I could actually cover the distance to the nearest city on foot – a journey most people only think to make by train. That quiet realisation that I could travel that far under my own power is what planted the seed for my first ultra.

I created The Everyday Ultra Runner to share practical lessons, training insights, race experiences and the mistakes I’ve made along the way, helping other runners take on their first marathon or ultra-marathon with confidence.

A minimalist flatlay of ultra running essentials arranged with precision on a dark slate surface: a GPS watch with a long-distance route displayed, a pair of compact collapsible trekking poles, gel packets, salt tablets, and a soft-flask hydration bottle partially filled. A printed training plan with neatly highlighted weekly mileage anchors the composition. Overhead, diffused window light creates gentle, even illumination with soft shadows that emphasize textures without harsh contrast. The mood is organized, focused, and aspirational. The photographic style is clean and modern, with sharp focus throughout and balanced rule-of-thirds framing, ideal for illustrating structured guidance for everyday runners looking to go further.
